Message to the Community
Frederick S. Withum III, Ed.D.
Cumberland Valley School District’s commitment to academic
excellence, dedication to developmental needs of their children, and
sense of school pride are second to none. The work of educators and
staff and the support of parents and the community are widely known and
respected and are reflected in the accomplishments of an amazing student
body. The efforts in Cumberland Valley are all about the “A’s”:
Academics, Arts, Athletics, Army, and Agriculture. But Cumberland Valley
is known for having a few “C’s” as well: Commitment, Conviction,
Compassion, Courage, and Consistency. A community that builds its
schools around these educational values and measures its actions by its
dedication to these principles is nothing short of extraordinary. It is
what makes the Cumberland Valley School District a unique and special
place for our children and for our grandchildren and why it is among
America’s best public schools.
It is truly an honor to serve as the Superintendent of the Cumberland
Valley School District. In my role as Superintendent, I am proud to be
both a steward of a rich and successful past filled with great
traditions and the point guard for the school district as it continues
to become a national example of all that a 21st century public school education can hold for our children.
