Players who still need to get a PIAA sports physical way attend one of these dates provided on the flyer linked.

Tryout Criteria for evaluations

Players are evaluated on basic skills in 4 areas including ball handling, tackling, finishing, and the speed in which these are executed, that we refer to as speed of play. Another aspect of evaluation is a players athletic awareness, for example field vision and decision making during game play. A players physical condition coming into the season may also be used as a determining factor.  The top 11 players will score the most points, followed by the next 11, and so on through the 4 point scale. This method will be used for the Mile, Bench Press, and Squat Max test.  In addition, intangible skills like work ethic or team work, when needed. An individuals ability to play a role or a variety of roles, in the program as a member of the team will be factored in as the team is being developed. For example, a soccer team can not carry 8 Goal Keepers on a limited roster. Through out the evaluation process (Try-outs) multiple coaches will be using a scoring rubric using a 4 point scale (4 being the highest level and 1 being the lowest), These scores will be calculated and evaluated over the scheduled sessions.

Any 7th-9th grade girl (who did not play CV Girls Soccer in the Fall) may try-out for either the Jr. High JV or Varsity after school at Mountain View grass fields. Students traveling from the middle schools should take the activity bus from the school to Mountain View and change for practice using the PE locker rooms. Following team selections practices and games will occur everyday after school through May. If the students do not have school, they do not have Jr. High athletic events.
