CV educators continue to inspire at Improving Schools Conference.

Cumberland Valley continues to be recognized for its exceptional work in implementing structured literacy practices based on the science of reading. On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Milbrand, Middlesex Elementary Instructional Specialist Lauren Whiteko, and former CVSD team member Megan Gierka presented the district's journey and successes in literacy implementation at the Pennsylvania Association of Federal Program Coordinators’ Improving Schools Conference.

In addition, Dr. Megan Ward co-presented with the Pennsylvania Department of Education on the topic of Effective Teacher Mentoring Programs, highlighting strategies to increase teacher retention across the state. Through these ongoing efforts, the district has become a key example for the state and continues to receive recognition nationwide.
