In 2021, the Cumberland Valley School District Board of Directors approved the development of a School Police Department. Starting as a department of two, the Department previously had jurisdiction over all schools in Silver Spring, Middlesex, and Monroe Townships while schools in Hampden Township were served through a cooperative relationship with the Hampden Township Police Department. Upon expiration of that contract in 2023, CVPD expanded their coverage and grew their department. Presently, the district employs four duly certified and sworn law enforcement officers with jurisdiction in our all of our district's schools. The agency is managed under the direction of the Cumberland Valley Department of Student and Public Safety.
