Cumberland Valley PD K9 Patch

ZORO

The Cumberland Valley School District School Police Department is proud to announce the arrival of K9 Zoro!

Zoro is a single-purpose weapons detection K9 specifically trained to detect the presence of firearms. Zoro has been trained to work in a K-12 environment by the School Safety K9 Foundation, a 501(C)(3) organization whose mission is to prevent violence in US schools by introducing scentdetection K-9s utilzing passive, non-intrusive screening methods to detect hidden firearms.

CVPD is the first agency in the entire nation to be awarded a K-9, at no cost, through this innovative program.

Zoro, a German Shorthair Pointer, arrived to CV in mid-August after several months of intensive training in Anniston, Alabama. For the last four weeks of his training, Zoro was joined in Alabama by CVPD Officer Corey Shoemaker, who will care for Zoro and serve as his handler.
