Senior Jake Dussinger Dribbles Up the Pitch
The boys soccer team prepares for their home opener this Friday, September 6, at Eagle View Middle School against Central Dauphin.
The team looks to build off last years success. “To win districts and Mid Penns again, and to make a deep run in the state championships,” said Jake Dussinger.
The team had an early exit last year in the state playoffs. “Our first round exit from states last year has been our main source of energy when preparing for our upcoming season, because not only do we want to make it past the first round this year, but also make it much further and hopefully to the final,” said Dussinger.
The soccer team is off to a good start to the season with a 2-1 record, but picked up an early loss to Emmaus. “Our second regular season game against Emmaus wasn’t the greatest. There are things in that game that we definitely need to improve upon before our home opener against Central Dauphin, but we bounced back in a great way in our 5-0 win against Carlisle,” said Dussinger.
The impact the fans and the student section have on the teams performance goes a long way. “Gives us a competitive edge and motivation to get the win with a packed student section,” said Dussinger.
The confidence of the team is high going into their first home game. “I am very confident in myself and the team as whole. We are ready for the our home opener and would love the support from the students,” said Dussinger.
