Field Day News:
Field Day Volunteer forms
went home and are bright yellow, please consider helping during Silver Spring
Field Day, we need over 60 volunteers to make it work for our students! Please return forms to the office as soon as
possible. Again this year, we will be
ordering Field Day T-Shirts!! The logo
on the front of the shirt is brand new.
Order forms will be going home in back pack mail today and are bright
orange! ORDER FORMS MUST BE RETURNED BY MAY 8TH NO EXCEPTIONS
Staff Appreciation Week:
Next
week is staff appreciation week at Silver Spring. Be sure to reach out to any and all staff who
have made a difference to your child this year and show your appreciation for
all their hard work and dedication to seeing our students take that next step
in their maturity and educational growth.
We are looking forward to a wonderful showing of appreciation for all
our teachers and staff do each and every day!
Art Van Go:
We
are still in need of one additional volunteer for our Art Van Go visit next
week. If you are able to volunteer on
Friday morning, May 11, we would need you from 9:00-12:00. Please contact the office or your child’s
teacher to let us know of your availability.
Many thanks go out to the other parents who have already volunteered!
5th Grade Celebration:
We
are very proud of our 5th grade students and know that you are too. We will
gather on May 30, 2018 at 1:00 PM to look back on the years of academic and
personal growth that our children have made and cheer them on to future
success.
Each 5th grade student may
invite 3 guests to share this special celebration. Younger siblings must remain
in their classrooms for their special last day events. Seating needed for this
large class unfortunately means that there is not enough space for every
student to invite more than 3 guests. Because we cannot extend an exception to
one family that we cannot extend to all, your understanding is asked for by
inviting only 3 guests.
The program will last
approximately 1½ hours. There will be a short time for pictures with family and
friends following the celebration. If you wish, you may then sign your child
out for dismissal. All other students, including siblings, will be dismissed at
the regular time.
Please RSVP on the form
already sent home with 5th grade students by May 23. All guests will need to
wear a secure visitor sticker. If any guest is not in our security system, it
would be helpful to come in a few days before that day to have their license
scanned. This will allow us to pre-print that sticker. Looking forward to a
great celebration!
