Hello Middlesex Families,
We thank you for generosity in purchasing gifts for families in our school community. This year we served 40 families with a total of 77 children.Thank you to all of those families and community members that donated to our Angel Tree!! It is so nice to see the kindness displayed here at Middlesex. Your givings will bring joy to a family this Holiday Season!
Musical...
This year, our musical, Annie Kids, was an amazing event where many students were able to showcase their talents! A special thank you to our director, Sean Gallagher, for having a vision and setting goals to get there with our performance. Much additional thanks goes out to our staff and community volunteers, Mrs. Sevcik, Mrs. Davis, Miss Smith, Mrs. Schreibeis, Miss Lake, Miss Cross, Mrs. Rausch, Mrs. McAlister, and Mr. Barlup, for working tirelessly with students to put all of the components of performing together. Many thanks to the students for many extra hours of practice; and to the families for providing the transportation and support throughout the weeks. Click here to view photos from the event.
Kindergarten Rhyme Time...
Thank to all of our kindergarten families that joined us for Rhyme Time this week. Our kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Kell, Mrs. Tingley, and Mrs. Kapp, along with our kindergartners, worked very hard preparing for many song selections. Click here to view photos from the event.
PTO Updates...
Thank you to our PTO Board for coming together this week to discuss and plan for upcoming events at Middlesex. If anyone is interested in getting more involved with the PTO, and would like to be part of the executive board (president, vice-president, secretary, or treasurer) please reach out to the school office, Mrs. Eldridge, or a PTO Board Member. Holiday Socials...
The Holiday Socials will be held on Friday, December 22nd, at Middlesex
Elementary School from 10:30-11:30. School will dismiss at noon with no
lunch served. Please place your name on this form and select the
classroom(s) you are visiting if you plan on attending. Those
individuals that have received a badge previously at Middlesex, or any
Cumberland Valley School, will have a pre-printed badge available in the
lobby on the day of the social. If you have not been provided a badge
prior to the event on the 22nd, you will need to visit the office with a
valid driver's license to be entered into our system. Visitors will not

Helpful Health Tip from the District...
As we enter the time of year in which head lice becomes more prevalent, we would like to take a moment to encourage parents to please check your child’s head at least once a week throughout the school year. Signs of infestation are head scratching or a sudden appearance of white specks in the hair. The white specks may be the nits or eggs that the head louse has laid. Nits may be found on the hair shaft about 1/4 - 1/2” away from the scalp and are found more often behind the ears, in bangs, and at the base of the neck. Eggs or nits look like a fleck of dandruff, but they do not come off the hair shaft unless you scrape them with your fingernail. Nits feel like a grain of sand stuck to the hair. If you have any concerns about your child, or if you find head lice in your child’s hair, please contact the school nurse. More information can be found at www.cvschools.org/HeadLice
