High School Nurses

Welcome

The health room is staffed with two certified school nurses.   During the 2016 - 17 school year, the 10th and 11th grade nurse is Anne Dille, BSN, CSN and the 9th and 12th grade nurse is Jennifer Forsyth, BSN, CSN.  Our priority is the safety, health, and well-being of the students and staff.  On a daily basis we monitor your child's health through mandated health screenings, delivery of first aid, and being a resource for students, staff, and parents.  Our goal is to provide the best care we can while your child is with us during the school day!

Health Screenings

Mandated state health screenings are done throughout the school year.  Height, weight, and vision are typically done during the months of August and September.  In addition 11th grade students will have their hearing tested in September.  If necessary retests will be done throughout the school year.  If your child receives a vision or hearing referral, it is because we have identified a potential problem.  Please take your child to his/her physician for further evaluation and return the form to the school nurse.

11th Grade Physicals

11th grade physicals are done in March.  We recommend you go to your private physician for an 11th grade physical, since he is familiar with your child's current health.  In order to fulfill the state requirement of a school physical, drivers physical, or athletic physical will meet the requirement.  Please submit a copy directly to the 11th grade school nurse.   Click on the navigation bar to the left under health forms to download a physical form.

Medication Policy

If your child needs to take medication during the school day,  the permission form which needs to be completed can be found on the navigation bar to the left under medication policy.  School policy states that students are NOT allowed to carry  prescription AND/OR over-the-counter medication.  Medication must be locked in the Health Suite. The exception would be Epi-Pens and asthma inhalers.

Location of Health Suite

The health suite is conveniently located across the hall from the cafeteria and down the hall from the high school office.

Medical History/Contact Numbers

It is important to update any changes in your child's medical history in order for us to best care for your child.   Also, any changes in your phone numbers are extremely important.  We need to have the most current numbers in order to reach you or a designated person.

If you have any questions please call Mrs. Forsyth @ 506-3641 or Mrs. Dille @ 506-3642. Our direct fax number is 506-3643.
