The Cumberland Valley School District’s administration and Board of School Directors believe that all of our students and staff should feel safe and free from harassment at all times, but most certainly while they are in our schools. We stand committed to listen with open minds and full hearts to our students, their families, and our staff, and we pledge to continue to work with them to create a future where all members of our community feel safe and welcomed.

We recognize that in these tumultuous times it is our responsibility to work toward this future, because it will not happen without our efforts and resolve. If we truly hope to be the change we want to see in the world, we must work to be that change. Over the past year, the District has engaged in meaningful conversations about racism, bias, and stereotype with our faculty and several student groups. As we move forward, it is our plan to continue those conversations with our faculty and staff and to further engage our students in meaningful and constructive dialogue that we hope will bring about greater understanding. We are committed to ensuring that all students and staff at CVSD feel respected and valued and that all members of our school community demonstrate respect and value for each other.
