Cumberland Valley School District’s Board of School Directors on Wednesday evening voted to appoint Steven Winnie as its newest member. He will fill the Silver Spring Township seat vacated by Pam Long, who officially resigned from the Board earlier this month.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on behalf of the citizens of Silver Spring Township,” said Mr. Winnie, “and I look forward to working closely with my fellow Board members and the District administration toward our shared goals.”

Mr. Winnie brings both professional and volunteer experience to the position, including his service on the Eagle Foundation’s Board of Directors and as the Chair of its Access to Opportunity Committee. He has also volunteered with Junior Achievement and as a coach with CVYBA and youth lacrosse. Prior to moving into Silver Spring Township, he served as the volunteer administrator of the PTO Scholarship at Middlesex Elementary School.

His appointment officially begins in January and he will fill the remainder of the term, which expires in December.

Welcome to the Board of School Directors, Mr. Winnie!
