Director of Student/Public Safety Position

August 2018:

By 10 a.m. each day, Cumberland Valley School District has more than 10,000 students, faculty, and staff in its eight elementary schools, two middle schools, the new middle school construction site, and two District support facilities. In addition, throughout the day, hundreds of parents, professionals, and representatives from businesses, outside agencies and organizations, and visitors enter our facilities. On any given day at the height of operations, CV is bigger than the Borough of Camp Hill and Dillsburg combined.

Through a reassignment of duties, Cumberland Valley School District has created a new position dedicated to student and public safety. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, employees, and visitors. This includes developing, establishing, and enforcing safety and security policies, access control procedures, and accident prevention efforts. This position will also support risk management efforts, fire safety, emergency management, asset protection, parking control and traffic enforcement programs. This position will work directly with our local Chiefs of Police, Commander of the State Police Barracks in Carlisle, the School Resource Officer, and District security and event staff, and will serve as a liaison between all law enforcement agencies and first responders who help to keep CV safe.
