Book Title: History Alive! The United States through Industrialism

Course Goal/Overview:

This course will examine a chronological study of American history from its European foundations to its greatest internal conflict. It will attempt to promote critical analysis and evaluation as well as provide relevant application to current history. 

Units of Study and Sequence:

Early Exploration; Early Colonization; Founding of the Original Thirteen Colonies; Life in the Colonies; French and Indian War; Colonial Government and Western Political Philosophy; Causes of the American Revolution; Revolutionary War; Establishing the Constitution; Constitutional Principles and the U.S. Government; First Years Under the President; Industrial Revolution; Growth of Democracy; Western Expansion; Sectionalism and the causes of the Civil War.
